Critical thinking

Critical thinking is slice #3 on the SaConJa skills framework.

Do you believe you’re a critical thinker?

The thing is, everyone believes they think critically about they world.
And yet they continue to assume so much about so many things.
They consume news and editorials in their echo chamber, reinforcing the belief they hold in their head.

As a #Salesforce#Consultant, you will need to cultivate incisive critical thinking skills
– to question
– to challenge
– to analyse
– to reason
– to reflect
– to evaluate

Everything, including
– hypothesis
– thoughts
– beliefs
– assumptions
– assertions

…held by others… as well as yourself.

It is the relentless task of pondering, wondering and questioning everything you think, see and hear.

When I listen to people arguing about Brexit, the pandemic, politics, current affairs, I listen for critical thinking.

I am not as interested in who is wrong or who is right – but rather, the process of respectful dialogue and discussion that chips away false assumptions, incorrectly held beliefs and reveals candour and honesty in the situation.

This is a topic that’s covered within my Discovery Consulting Masterclass (next LIVE date on 15 Nov) and also includes Insightful Questioning skills. These are important when trying to get to the heart of the matter when eliciting requirements from users and stakeholders who may not be as excited about being introduced to a new #CRM as expected.

I’m offering 5 no-charge spaces on the next Masterclass, details below.

Now be honest – do you really practice Critical Thinking?
What assumptions do you make?
Are you aware when you are making them?
Do you question your thinking patterns?
Would you get some 🍩 for Bob… perhaps he might tell you what’s on his mind?

What would you do? 🤨
