I will still be here

“I will still be here if I’m learning, earning and having fun.”

A bit of a gutsy answer to interview question, “Where will you be in 5 years?”

I view almost everything in life as transactional.
And so, a job may be right for the candidate.
For now.

A consulting business such as a #Salesforce or #Microsoft Partner should keep its talent pool by creating exciting career paths.
For example, progress support staff into the delivery team, or find a way to bring over remote offshore managed service guys into the core team.

I don’t believe in “Forever Job” or” Forever Employee”.

Long term relationships of any kind are built up of small transactions, and you do need to pay attention to them.

You never know when your current employer may be your future customer.

And that is why I make sure I inject as much positive energy into all the transactional experience I have with other people.

With
My team
My clients
My company
My partner
My kids
My friends
The Tesco delivery man
The busker at Bank Station..

In fact, with everyone I meet.

Relationships are made out of many emotional transactions and interactions. Add them together and you’ve created the notes that describes the music of your connection.

A job is a transaction.
It is up to both sides to make it a rewarding one.

When I was younger, I prioritised learning over earning or having fun.

What’s amazing is that now, I have options!
Since moving away from full time employment to a training/coach/entrepreneur, it’s been full on with much learning and fun! (And hoping the earning will come soon 😁)

“Where will you be in 5 years?”
How would you answer this cliched question?
