Another tough shift at Samaritans tonight.
If I had a magic wand, I would wish that everyone could feel what others are feeling.
Empathy is what’s missing in the world today.
Divisiveness.
Exclusion.
Hatred.
These things moves us further away from what makes us human. 😣
There’s so much heartbreak and pain in the world, and sometimes I too can see how easy it would be to just Stop. The. Pain.
Take a moment to look around.
See who’s struggling.
Pause for a minute and ask how they are, genuinely.
And listen.
See them.
Hear them.
It doesn’t take much to touch someone’s life.
My heart is hurting for the callers I’ve had tonight. 💔
We have so many more callers than we have listening volunteers on our suicide crisis phone line.
If you’re in a good place, please reach out to those around you. Or consider volunteering.
If you’re struggling, please call 116 123 freephone from the UK.
It’s 988 for the suicide hotline in USA.
You don’t have to go through this alone. 🌹
