Decision making

Decision making is very much like a Google Map exercise in getting from where I am to where I want to go. 📌

There are 3 outcomes of this ‘Journey’.
(A) the Right Way
(B) the Long Way, and
(C) the Wrong Way. 😱

Of course this post isn’t about (A), because that’d be boring. 😴

You know what stops people from growing?
Being afraid that you’ll make the Wrong choice and end up being eaten by a badly drawn monster. 🐱‍🐉

I think those who look back on their life and realise that many of their not-perfect decisions were actually (B) rather than (C) tend to learn from mistakes and grow and develop more as a person.

That outlook, when applied to forward looking decisions about the future – whether that would be making decisions and choices about
– the right job
– the right house & neighbourhood
– the right friends
– or even life partner
… can be life changing.

The Long journey may not be the most efficient, but can sometimes be packed with lessons (if you choose to look hard enough) on how to make better decisions in future.

Worrying about being Wrong can be the worst disability to have.
It will stunt your growth, and keep you in a prison of fear.

These are the lessons I’ve learned, and that I’m sharing with my kids.

“Go forth and take the Long road (make sure you have enough ££ for fuel) as long as you don’t crash the car or mow down any mooses, you’re fine.” 👍🏻
😁

Today’s post was brought to you by the letter ‘D’ for 🍩!

A delightfully delectible donut delivery arrived to cheer me up (I tested positive for covid yesterday) so it’s been very much appreciated. 🥰🥰
Thank you lovely ladies Eleanor Dearing and Jasmine Ashley 😘
